Leith Hill Place is an elegant 17th-century National Trust property located in the Surrey Hills.
In a variable state of repair, the National Trust planned to undertake a feasibility study for the building’s future. In the absence of a complete set of building records, they commissioned our services to provide a set of 2D and 3D information that could be used for further surveys and design development.
We sat down with the Trust to understand their needs and worked up a tailored solution. Sensitive to the fact that parts of the property were still open to visitors, we worked flexibly and efficiently to accommodate the Trust’s requirements.
Our survey team was on site for 3 days using a cutting-edge camera, laser scanners and drone to produce all the data needed for a virtual tour and point cloud survey. This digital information was then used to start building the 3D model and produce supplementary 2D outputs.
We delivered a suite of digital solutions for the Trust,
including a 3D model in Revit, 2D drawings, and a
high-resolution virtual tour for the internal spaces,
complemented by an aerial virtual tour to assist with
maintenance inspections.
The artistic delivery and potential flexibility of adapting the technical outputs for marketing or visitor experience offerings was very alluring and what made the package of works enticing.
